Frequently Asked Questions
Will you manage/book my band? We are not currently taking on new clients for either management or tour booking. However, please feel free to send a press kit if you are interested in playing a show in Seattle.
What do I need to send to get a show? Please go to want to play page for info
How do I get a weekend show at the Central? All bands start on weekdays at the Central. If you bring at least 20 people to see your weekday show, you will get another chance on a weekday. If you bring at least 40 people to see your show on a weekday you will get an opening slot on a weekend. For weekends, the expected draw is 100 fans per band.
What venues do you book for? The Central Saloon is the only venue we do exclusive booking for. Other rooms are booked as an outside promoter, each venue is chosen to fit the band line-up best.
What's the best way to reach you? Email is the preferred contact method. Every email is read, but only responded to when there is a show date to offer.
We have a show booked with you, where should we send posters? Send posters direct to the venue at least 2 weeks before the show.
Do you send out any press for shows you book? Press is sent to local music papers, websites, and radio stations (every event is sent to at least 50 places). However, it is still recommended individual bands send info to press as well, as they are more likely to write about a show they have heard about from a variety of people. Most press deadlines are at least one month before the event, so make certain you start early.
Why haven't you called me back? You will receive a phone call or email when there is a show to offer you. Please do not call daily. Feel free to send an email every few weeks to remind us you are still looking for a show.
What kind of acts do you book? Local, regional and national original bands. Focus is on original rock. Sorry, no solo acoustic or cover bands.
What do you look for when we play? Draw, professionalism, good stage volume, quick set up and tear down time (7 minutes each), promptness, nice to staff, polite crowd, advance marketing, etc.
We're a newer band, how are we expected to bring fans? You should beg your family, friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, coworkers etc. to come to your shows until you build up a fan base. Only play as often as your family/friends will come to see you play.
